Honoring One’s Family Ties

Maintaining good relations with one’s kins is regarded as a way or means for the increase in blessings in one’s lifetime and the prolongation of one’s life span. Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, “He who desires ample provisions and his life be prolonged, should maintain good ties with his blood relations.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Fruits of Honoring One’s Family Ties

Verily, maintaining good relations with one’s family and relatives makes one’s house a prosperous one and increases one in wealth and property. Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: “Verily, Allah may make the houses of such and such people prosperous and increase their wealth for them whereas He has never looked at them since He created them out of hate. It was said: Oh Messenger of Allah! How is that? He said: Because they maintain good relations with their families.”

Positive Thinking in Islam

A person who always thinks about bad things in his mind and imagines that bad things will happen to him thinks unjustly and unfavorably about God and ends us getting bad things. A person, who has good thoughts, thinks favorably about God, because everything comes into existence through the creation of God, is bestowed with goodness.

Aids for Lowering One’s Gaze

The human self or soul does not get bored of moving, going around, demanding and laboring. Consequently, if you do not occupy it with what is right and righteous, it will definitely occupy you with that which is evil and debaucherous. And, if you do not try to take it to an elevated status, it will certainly drag you down to the lowest of all positions. Hence, you should determine what you need and want, then start to do your best to implement your highest and noblest dreams.

Why Do Muslims Say ‘Alhamdulillah’ After Sneezing?

Indeed, sneezing releases vapors that were trapped in the head which, if they were to remain there, would cause him pain and sickness. That is why Islam tells Muslims to say Alhamdulillah and praise Allah the Almighty for this blessing.
