Ruling of Vaginal Discharge

Question:

What is the ruling of the clear vaginal discharge other than the sexual discharge that happens on a regular basis? It is not the blood that comes out during the menstrual period rather it is colorless, do I have to perform ghusl (ritual bath) or wudu’ (ablution) and offer prayer on such condition?

Answer:

It is better for a woman in such case to wash her private parts and perform ablution for each prayer after the time of it has begun. A woman also has to wear sanitary pads.

‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that Fatimah bint Abu Hubaish came to the Prophet(peace be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I am a woman whose blood keeps flowing (even after the menstruation). I am never purified; should I, therefore, stop praying?” He (the Prophet) said: “No, for that is only a vein, and is not menstruation. So when the menstruation comes, abstain from prayers, and when it ends wash the blood from yourself and then pray”. (Agreed upon)
