Preservation of the Qur’an

Was the Qur’an written down in one book during the time of the Prophet? What is the reason behind collecting the Qur’an during the life of Abu Bakr? What happened during the life of Caliph `Uthman concerning the Qur’an?

Welcome to this exciting episode of The Proof that Islam is the Truth series with Abdur-Raheem Green who discusses the issue of preservation of the Qur’an and how it proves the credibility of Islam.

He begins his talk by shedding some light on the logical evidence. One of the strongest proofs and evidences that Islam is from Allah is what the Qur’an itself teaches about the Oneness of Allah. In fact, we find in every religion, in some or another way, what distorts the belief in the Oneness of God.

For example, Christianity teaches that God has become man and that somehow Jesus is both human and God. This is a type of impossibility. How can something be completely human and completely divine at the same time?

Allah the Almighty says:

We have sent down the Quran Ourself, and We Ourself will guard it. Even before you [Prophet]. (Al-Hijr 15:9)

Without doubt, the reality of the preservation of the Qur’an is one of the miraculous aspects of the Qur’an.

How could we know that the Qur’an is authentic? How could we refute those who claim that the Qur’an has evolved over the years? Why was not the Qur’an collected in one book during the life of the Prophet?

Follow us on this fascinating episode with Abdur-Raheem Green who answers all these questions and more…
