Palindrome Miracle in the Qur’an

What is the miracle in the language of the Qur’an?

In this short talk, Sheikh Nouman Khan reflects on the following verse from Surat Al-Muddaththir (the 74th Chapter of the Qur’an), where the Almighty Allah says:

And your Lord glorify. (Al-Muddaththir 74:3)

He talks in brief about the palindrome miracle in that verse. The letter “waw” in Arabic is like the English capital letter. It can be used for many things, more than twenty-one things. One of them is “Al-isti’naf” which means to start a new sentence. Then, he explains what is called in English “palindrome” in the verse which indicates the eloquence of the Qur’an and the Arabic Language. [Start time: 01 – 1:47]

Then he indicates the following verse from Surat Al-`Ankabut (the 29th Chapter of the Qur’an), which reads:

“You did not write anything with your right hand…” (Al-`Ankabut 29:48)

The Almighty Allah gave our Messenger (peace be upon him) words that he did not write down. So, this is entirely an oral exercise for the Prophet. Once he (the Prophet) says something, he does not add or correct it. Allah revealed it and that’s it. It is exactly the way Allah has instructed him to recite.

The challenge for mankind is the simple translation of the verse of Surat Al-Muddaththir, which would be “Declare the Greatness only of Your Lord.”

Try to recite the verse in English, German, French, Chinese, Japanese, Urdu, etc. You could translate the verse, but you cannot translate the miracle. So, the miracle of the Quran lies in the Arabic Language. Every verse of the Qur’an has its own miracle. [Start time: 01:48-03:25]

Enjoy watching this talk in a very simple way with Sheikh Nouman Khan.
