Why should parents care for teaching their children the Book of Allah?
The Scholars have defined the Qur’an as the words of Allah revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), whose recitation is an act of worship and the shortest Surah of which is a challenge to people. Allah has challenged the whole of mankind to try and produce a single chapter like the Qur’an as we read:
And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. (Al-Baqarah 2:23)
This Qur’an elevates those who ponder, recite, understand and act upon its teachings. The following story explains the great rewards of taking the Qur’an as a light of guidance.
Today’s episode of “40 Hadiths pertaining to the Virtues & Rulings of the Qur’an” sheds some light on the following hadith (Prophetic tradition):
Mu`adh Al-Juhani narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “‘Whoever reads the Qur’an, learns it and acts in accordance with it, on the Day of Resurrection his parents will be given a crown to wear whose light will be like the light of the sun, and his parents will be given garments which far surpass everything to be found in this world. They will say, “Why have we been given this to wear?” It will be said, “Because your child learned the Qur’an. (Al-Hakim)
The Almighty Allah has promised a great reward for parents who always motivate their children to recite and memorize the Book of Allah. Parents will be clothed with special garments on the Day of Judgment that do not resemble any such clothes in this world. Because they took care and taught their children. The Qur’an not only elevates the rank of the reciters of the Qur’an but also honor their parents.
Enjoy watching this interesting talk with Sheikh Almogir Ali to know how the Qur’an elevates some and degrades others.
